The Imota local council authority had reminded residents of the council about the commencement of the re- introduced environmental sanitation on Saturday, April 25.
The council, which has been sensitizing the public for weeks about the exercise, through its Media and Public Engagement Office, urged residents to actively participate in the exercise commencing tomorrow.
”The Imota Local Council Development Area, hereby, wishes to remind all residents of the Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise, in accordance with the directive of the Lagos State Government.

”The exercise is scheduled to commence tomorrow, Saturday, April 25, 2026, and will subsequently hold on the last Saturday of every month, between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
”Residents are strongly encouraged to actively participate by cleaning their surroundings, clearing drainage channels, and ensuring proper waste disposal. This exercise is a collective civic responsibility aimed at promoting a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment across our communities”, the statement said.
”Community leaders, Community Development Associations (CDAs), market associations, youth groups, and other stakeholders are, hereby, encouraged to mobilize residents within their respective areas to ensure full compliance and participation”.

The statement added that officials of relevant authorities will be on ground to monitor and enforce compliance, and also enjoined residents to give them full cooperation for the overall wellbeing of Imota LCDA.
